The NAB Show New York 2024, scheduled for October 8-10 at the Javits Center in Manhattan, is once again set to deliver an immersive experience for professionals across the broadcast, media, and entertainment sectors in the all important New York region.

The event, well known for showcasing the latest innovations and technology in film and TV tech, will provide a wide range of hands-on, immersive product demos and workshops for both seasoned veterans and curious newcomers.

This year, Symply Storage is making its mark with advanced data storage solutions designed for media workflows, including scalable RAID storage and enhanced archiving tools. These products are aimed at professionals managing large volumes of media data for fast, efficient access and long-term protection of valuable content.

As always, all eyes will be on Blackmagic Design, a regular exhibitor/honeytrap for anyone interested in affordable, high-end products. Their huge booth will showcase its popular solutions, including the new URSA Mini Pro 12K camera and version 19 of DaVinci Resolve, a widely respected editing, color grading, and post-production platform. Their products continue to impact professional filmmaking, offering robust features at accessible price points. Their demo’s are also really cool, make sure you go visit if you are planning to attend.

If cameras are your thing, Canon USA will also bring their top-of-the-line imaging solutions, focusing on the new Canon EOS C80 (we covered the news of that launch here), designed for content creators and video production professionals. Attendees can expect hands-on demonstrations of Canon’s mirrorless cameras, lenses, and professional video equipment, making this a must-visit booth for visitors in our experience. Canon’s USA HQ is just over in Long Island, so they are on home turf here!

In addition to the exhibitors, NAB Show New York will offer free sessions on the show floor, including discussions on (of course) AI’s impact on media, the rise of the creator economy, and trends in sports broadcasting - an area that seems to have a bottomless budget thanks to payers of premium subscription models (just like the author of this article!) Attendees can also explore the very cool Fujifilm Photowalks, offering a chance to test the latest gear while touring New York City’s most scenic locations.

The NAB Show New York 2024 is a can't-miss event for anyone in media production that is within a subway ride/ Amtrak of Manhattan in our experience, from broadcast to post-production, offering invaluable networking and learning opportunities.

How much does this cost I hear you ask? Well if you don't plan in advance then you can expect to pay $79 if you are not an NAB member. However, dear reader - RedShark can get you in for free by signing up here.

Go ahead and have a great day on us!
