It not only looks extremely cool, but it also eliminates the vexing problem of the M4 Mac mini power button location.
Somebody needs to have a word with Apple about its insistence on putting things on the bottom of stuff. The USB port on the bottom of the Magic Mouse has long been a significant annoyance to users, and is something that seems will now persist unto the nth generation with the latest USB-C model not moving it anywhere slightly saner.
Jerrod Hofferth’s free 3D-printable miniaturized Mac Pro-style enclosure for the new Mac Mini not only eliminates that problem though, it also gives you arguably the coolest desktop accessory going.
The M4 Mac mini simply slides securely into the rear of the 3D-printed shell of the Mac Pro case. All ports remain functional, and the power button is prominently and readily accessible via a push-through button in the case.
The top handles, feet, and optional wheel hubs print separately and can be glued onto the case. You can even print wheels that will be substantially cheaper than the $699 demanded for those that fit the full-size Mac Pro. We've had entire cars that haven't been worth that much.
The project is ongoing and the latest updates are available via Hofferth's Mastodon account.
