Featuring multiple accessories and upgrade options, the Tilta Full Camera Cage for the Canon C400 give you plenty of new options to rig and operate the camera.
Tilta has released a modular Full Camera Cage for the popular Canon C400 and thrown a large amount of accessories into the mix too.
Three kits are available, with the Base Kit (above) starting at an agreeably low $199. The base spec kit includes a Top Plate, Left and Right Side Arms, Bottom Plate, and Multifunctional Back Plate, as well as a Manfrotto Quick Release Plate. Each part is detachable and can be added or removed based on your needs. The components interlock seamlessly, ensuring a stable installation and protection for the camera body from bumps and scratches. The snug fit should prevent any shifting or loosening and, of course, there are multiple mounting points (inc. Arri Rosette, NATO Rail, 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 Threads) for you to attach stuff to.
It allows for quick transitions between shooting in horizontal and vertical mode with the same setup. It has also rather usefully been designed to provide clearance for the original Canon top handle and ensures unobstructed access to all ports.
Optional accessories are included in the next level of kits, the Advanced ($469) and the Pro ($649).
The Advanced (above) adds a Multifunctional Top Handle that provides a comfortable grip to handle and operate the camera while offering additional mounting points, and a Sony VCT-U14 compatible Baseplate allows users to attach various accessories via 15mm LWS rods on the front of the baseplat. It features an ergonomic shoulder pad so users can quickly transition between tripod and shoulder mounted configurations.
The top-range Pro kit (above) supplements this with a Battery Plate featuring USB-C PD input and outputs as well as P-Tap outputs and a 2-Pin output. The Plate has a swivel mount that allows users to easily access the camera’s on-board batteries, making it amenable to hot swapping. It also throws in extension handle support for the C400 Side Handle and thus access to the camera’s full controls while in shoulder rig configuration.
All kits are currently available at an introductory price of 10% off.
