The new Hydra Motorized Slider from Tilta adds even more flexibility to vehicle mounted shoots.
The new Hydra Motorized Slider can be mounted onto a vehicle using a Tow Hook or Hitch Adapter and utilizes 50mm Speed Rail with suction cups providing additional support.
Made from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy and 304 stainless steel, the shock-absorbing arm and slider are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, ranging from -22℉ to 176℉ (-30℃ to 80℃).
The Hydra offers flexible remote operation capabilities via a control handle and control terminal, allowing users to control the slider's movement from inside the vehicle, whether wired or wireless. The system allows them to adjust speed, damping, set A/B points, and program the slider to reach these points at specific time intervals without further input. It can travel from its highest to lowest point in just 4 seconds, descending at a rate of 1.4 feet per second.
It manages to square the circle of being both robust and portable. The slider weighs 110.2 lbs (50kg) and fits into three relatively compact cases for easy storage and transportation in most vehicles with a decent sized trunk/boot.
It's efficient when it comes to power too. The unit is powered by only four 14.8V V-Mount batteries. Using four 270Wh (18600mAh) batteries, users can enjoy a full day of shooting without swapping batteries under normal shooting conditions.
The shock-absorbing arm can dampen vibration on multiple axes and supports up to 66 lbs. The shock-absorbing head comes with a DJI Ronin 2 mounting plate, and when used with optional accessories, the system can be mounted on the roof of a vehicle without the shock-absorbing arm for broadcast purposes such as marathons or cycling events.
The Slider itself costs $4999. An all-singing, all-dancing, everything you might need version costs $10,999.
