We look at Wordeo, the iPhone and iPod touch video messaging app created to bring words to life
Designed to "enrich the way people communicate", Wordeo was created using a library of professional video content from Getty Images to allow words to be translated into a collection of moving images.
After creating a profile, users can create their own Wordeos. We had a go at doing one for RedShark!
The video clips, fonts and soundtracks may be tweaked and, if you are unhappy with the selection of video clips available, you can add your own.Once you are content with your masterpiece you can send your Wordeo into the social media stratosphere as the app offers the ability to share on Facebook and twitter as well as Wordeo.
The rest of the app works a bit like Instagram with the ability to view Popular Wordeos, search Wordeos and search and follow friends and other users.
Clearly some words are missing clips, but with celebrities jumping onto the bandwagon as well as an Android app and a specially designed iPad version soon to be released, there is no doubt that Wordeo has potential! You can see where this might be going. In a few years, you'll be able to feed an entire script into an iPhone app, and then wait a few seconds while it renders an Oscar-winning feature film for you. Or maybe not.
