Spitfire Audio’s New ‘One Finger’ Orchestral Library Brings Simplified Orchestration to Everyone

Spitfire Audio has introduced TUTTI, a new orchestral sample library designed to provide instant access to rich orchestral compositions with minimal complexity.

The latest offering from Spitfire Audio, known for its high-quality orchestral sample libraries, TUTTI aims to simplify the composition process. Drawing from the meticulously recorded sessions of the Spitfire Symphony Orchestra, TUTTI provides pre-orchestrated patches that can be played with a single finger, making it accessible to both novice and seasoned composers.

Paul Thomson, co-founder of Spitfire Audio, explained: “It’s as simple as load and play.” With TUTTI, users can instantly blend sections of the orchestra—woodwinds, strings, brass, and percussion—without the need for traditional orchestration techniques. This makes it particularly appealing for those intimidated by the complexity of working with a full orchestra.

The sounds in TUTTI are taken from recordings made at AIR Studios’ Lyndhurst Hall, one of Britain’s top scoring facilities. By using the same recording techniques and instruments found in major film soundtracks, Spitfire Audio ensures the sound quality is on par with that of professional composers for blockbuster movies.

A standout feature of TUTTI is its user-friendly approach. Composers can manipulate the sound in real-time using the modulation wheel, adding more depth and intensity to brass sections or layering in percussion for added texture. The library also includes a full range of articulations, such as staccato and legato, that can be accessed without the need for complex keyswitching.

Additionally, users have control over microphone placement, with options for close, tree, and ambient mic positions. This allows for further fine-tuning of the sound, catering to various needs in video production and post-production workflows.
