SmallRig's entry level Wireless Follow Focus Kit (Lite) promises to deliver low-latency focus pulling for just $169.
The new Wireless Follow Focus Lite Kit from SmallRig is one of those products that showcases the incessant improvement over previous generations of pretty much any product. It offers a peak torque of 4.3 kgf.cm, meaning that the follow focus torque is effectively doubled from the previous generation. And the company says that it also features 35% improved response efficiency compared to its predecessor too, though there are no numbers attached to that.
The system secures onto the camera using a combination of quick release follow focus ring, 15mm rod clamp with NATO rail, and 15mm rod. That torque will drive a wide variety of zoom lenses, and there are some nice touches on the usability front. The hand wheel has a built-in OLED display featuring green and blue light indicators that show connection status and channels, while there's some onboard memory that will store lens travel and AB point settings meaning you don't have to recalibrate each time.
It has a built-in 1400 mAh battery that will provide up to 21 hours of use and supports PD and QC fast charging so will top up hopefully fairly quickly.
