How the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) leads the way in animation education, blending individual creativity with cutting-edge technology.
This is one of the recent videos we worked with ASUS to produce and features the Budapest-based Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME). MOME has some serious history behind it, tracing its roots back to the Hungarian Royal National School of Arts and Crafts, which was founded in 1880. Now named after Hungarian painter and photographer László Moholy-Nagy, also one of the professors of the influential interwar Bauhaus School, the University has evolved and adapted considerably to the world around it throughout its long history.
Currently that requires it to host equipment that can handle complex 3D projects and it has tapped ASUS to do this. MOME uses the iPon Creator Advanced workstation powered by ASUS, which provides students with the performance they need for the highest-end creative projects. Equipped with a ProArt B760 motherboard and ProArt RTX 4070 graphics card, this workstation ensures seamless rendering, even for the most complex animations. And judging by the University's output, there are plenty of them, as a quick look at its 2024 Diploma exhibition reveals. As Moholy-Nagy said himself, “Designing is not a profession but an attitude.”
In addition to the iPon Creator Advanced workstation, MOME utilizes two different ASUS ProArt monitors to provide students with immersive and color-accurate viewing experiences. With different color spaces, students can deliver projects accurately in different delivery formats depending where the final project will be displayed. The monitors also come with connectivity ports, so students can easily integrate additional tools, such as Wacom displays, further enhancing their creative workflow.
"The cooperation with ASUS provides our students with a new opportunity. With the help of the workstation and the ASUS ProArt monitors, they can expand the quality of design tasks and implement real-time renders and real-time feedback at a much higher technical level," says László Brovinszki, the Head of BA Animation at MOME.
