London-born New York artist James Nares has used the simplest of ideas to create a captivating film. He's shot scenes of New York from a moving car, in slow-motion
By carefully selecting 3 minutes from a total of 16 hours of high-speed shooting, when shown in slow-motion, the edited footage takes an hour to view.
This is what's formed the basis of his video "Street", which is on show now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
In Nares’ words:
I wanted the film to be about people. All it needed were magical moments, and there are enough of those happening every moment of any given day.
