Start your week with a look at new gear from ARRI, Alteon.io, PanaTrack, FUJIFILM and Revar Cine.
ARRI has partnered up with SmallHD to develop a camera control monitor for its flagship ALEXA 35 and ALEXA Mini LF camera systems. The ARRI Control Camera Monitor CCM-1 is a rugged 7” on-camera monitor featuring an IPS LCD touchscreen panel with a resolution of 1920×1200, a viewing angle of 160°, and a maximum brightness of 1300 nits. Since it is SmallHD, it comes with a full set of professional monitoring tools.
The monitor connects using the same VF CoaXPress cable as the viewfinder, transmitting power, image, audio, and camera control information. This is pretty convenient, as it leaves all the camera’s SDI outputs free for other systems in place. However, the brightness of the monitor is limited to 100 nits unless it is connected to the device's power input port (10-34VDC / 2.0A).
ARRI’s Camera Control Monitor provides real-time video previews from the ALEXA 35 or ALEXA Mini LF. The CCM-1 allows you to adjust shooting settings and navigate through the camera’s menu system. The ARRI CCM-1 features solid aluminum construction, measures 187x120x29mm / 7.36×4.72×1.14”, and weighs approximately 594g/20.95oz. The chassis offers 1/4” mounting points on the bottom, rear, top, and right side.
The ARRI Camera Control Monitor CCM-1 Set retails for $5,620 and is able to preorder here. The kit includes the screen, a sun hood, the Monitor Arm for Camera MAC-1, an 0.5m/1.5ft. VF cable, and an RS-RS/PWR IN cable of the same length. Find out more here.
Alteon.io, a comprehensive cloud-based platform that streamlines creative workflows for content creators of all backgrounds if you haven't come across it yet, has hired Brian Meaney as its new Head of Product. Meaney previously spent 18 years at Apple, where he rose from product designer to lead designer and later senior manager of UX design for all video applications, including Final Cut Pro X, Motion, Compressor and iMovie.
“Alteon is, in many ways, following the same ethos we did at Apple—empowering content creators to do what they do best,” Meaney said. “Get the technology out of the way. Enhance your media to make you as efficient as possible. Creatives require complex systems beneath a simple, intuitive interface. Alteon is fundamentally redefining content creation, and I can’t wait to help shape it into something even greater.”
PanaTrack is a bendable camera slider that was designed to enable fast conversion from a linear to a curved camera track. Within seconds the system can be changed from a linear to a curved slider at any desired radius. The PanaTrack has a payload capacity of up to 15kg / 33 lbs. It is fully compatible with Panasonic PTZ Cameras and RPs.

Transporting your glass filters can be stressful since they have to be thoroughly protected. Revar Cine Filter Cartridge features poly-nylon material that protects a single 4 x 5.65″ filter safely and securely in any situation. It has an internal rail guide that prevents the glass from touching the inside of the cartridge, and a top lid with a latch so you can access your filter without touching the glass surface when you remove them from the cartridge for cleaning.
Currently, the cartridges are only available for 4 x 5.65″ filters, but the company will work on other sizes in the near future. The Revar Cine filter cartridge can be ordered for $44.95. See more about Revar Cine here.
