This week we look at a whole host of new products from DJI, RØDE, SmallRig, SWIT and Sirui.
The DJI O3 Air Unit boosts your drone and let’s you experience the realism and immersion of FPV piloting. The unit consists of the camera and a transmission module that work together with DJI 03+ video transmission technology. This way you stream 1080p H.265 video to your DJI goggles all the way to 6.2 miles away. The camera captures up to 4K 60fps footage and features 1/1.7” sensor that enables super-wide 155 FOV with just 30ms latency. The footage is stored in the unit’s own built-in 20GB memory.
The total camera module weighs about 36.4g and has physical dimensions of 21.2×20×19.5 mm. The O3 Air Unit is compatible with the following DJI devices: Goggles 2, FPV Goggles V2 and FPV Remote Controller 2.
The DJI O3 AIR UNIT retails for $229 or £174.17. It is now available to pre-order and it is expected to start shipping on the 25th of November.
If you are looking for a microphone for podcasting, streaming, gaming, and recording, RØDE has improved its NT-USB to the next level. It can deliver broadcast-quality audio in a small and easy-to-use form. RØDE has added a pop filter as an external accessory which can be easily removed for non-vocal recording applications.
This cardiodic microphone has a frequency range of 20Hz - 20kHz. For physical dimensions, the microphone is 184mm x 62mm x 50mm and weighs 540g. You can connect this microphone via a USB-C connection and it is compatible with all different operating systems.
The RØDE NT-USB+ is available now for $169 or for £165.83 including the NT-USB+, tripod, ring mount, pop filter, and SC29 cable.
SmallRig introduces 4 new COB LED Lights that use the company’s ‘AstralTech‘ Optical System. This system is claimed to provide over 35% greater output than competitors and it does that by using larger, higher-power LED chips, a custom-made high transmission multi-coated front glass element, and a COB bead design arrangement that provides even color mixing.
There are two available models: The bi-color and daylight version. Both of these lights can be controlled via LCD display, SmallGoGo app, or Control Panel. SmallRig mentions that its lights are quiet and only produce 28-32dB of noise even with its cooling fans.
Here are the following new models:
SWIT has announced its new RED V-RAPTOR XL 8K VV High / Bi-voltage battery solution. As a wide-voltage camera, the V-Raptor XL requires a high voltage of 24V from the battery to unlock all power supply ports. Traditional high-voltage V-mount batteries can be used, but SWIT has two better solutions.
The SWIT B-mount battery can be installed on the camera along with the pinch plate which enables it to achieve of a high-voltage power supply.
The large-capacity dual-voltage V-mount battery supports 14.4V standard voltage output as well as 28.8V high voltage output. It uses magnetic induction technology to switch the voltage.
SIRUI introduces its tiniest and lightest full-frame anamorphic lens - SIRUI Saturn 35mm Carbon Fiber Anamorphic Lens. It is available in Sony E-Mount, Canon RF, and DJI’s DL mount.
Compared to a size of a smartphone, the lens has a front filter thread of 58mm, manual aperture, and focus rings with industry-standard 0.8mod gears. The focus ring has a focus throw of 120°. Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6x has a minimum focusing distance of 0.9m/3ft. The lens design consists of 18 elements in 13 groups, ten aperture blades, and the aperture can go from T2.9 to T16.
The SIRUI Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6x is available now on SIRUI’s website here for €1,189.
