Over the past few years, Netflix has built a list of cameras that are approved for production on their films, TV shows, specials, etc. They've now approved the RED KOMODO, with these guidelines:
There are more guidelines, plus a camera list, which you can find here. The only RED camera not supported by Netflix is the first one, the classic RED ONE.
Manfrotto has released two new CFexpress Type B memory cards (PCIe 3.0 interface), including 128GB and 256GB options. The company says the cards write at speeds up to 1540 MBps, and read at speeds up to 1730 MBps.
Those speeds and capacities are perfect for photos, but especially video capture. Of course, if you're filming on a dedicated cinema camera in a high resolution (up to 8K) with HDR, it will take up more space. But these cards are great for regular filming on a cinema camera, mirrorless camera, or DSLR.
The price for each card is $199 (128GB) and $399 (256GB). Click here to learn more about all of Manfrotto's memory cards.
If you're looking for a sub-$200 USD, quality matte box that works with cinema lenses, check out the new carbon fiber model from CAME-TV. It's a clamp on matte box that supports 4 x 4 or 4 x 5.65 filters (in inches), and lenses must be 114mm. They're also adding in a cold shoe adapter and 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch threads.
While it costs more than the SmallRig version we featured recently, the CAME-TV carbon fiber model is ideal for cinematographers and videographers looking for a quality and durable matte box for under $200. Click here to learn more.
