The Nanlite FS-300C comes in at a very reasonable $549

Nanlite’s latest release in the FS series, the FS-300C, is a LED RGBW color spotlight launching at a budget friendly $549.

The new Nanlite FS-300C has a high power-ratio LED layout that delivers an impressive 34,200 lux @ 1m (5600K, with reflector) and 15,850 lux @ 1m (green, with reflector), which Nanlite says outperforms other products in its wattage class.

It is the first in the FS series with a color system, and utilizes a RGBW light engine that combines with Nanlite’s color mixing technology plus algorithm enhancements to offer a wide CCT range and precise green/magenta adjustment in CCT mode, along with extensive color choices in HSI mode. This, says the company, enables precise color tuning usually only found in higher-end lights.

It features a wide color temperature range of 2700K to 7500K and a ±150 green/magenta adjustment, allowing seamless matching with other light sources on set. Talking of temperatures, it also features an adjustable fan system with four modes (Smart/Full Speed/Low Speed/Off), allowing users to balance noise levels and output according to the shooting environment and audio requirements. In Smart mode, the average noise level of FS-300C is only 24dB(A)

An all-in-one design integrates the lamp body, control unit, and power adapter. This results in a lightweight 3.23 kg (7.12 lb) body, making it easy to transport and set up. Simply plug it in and it's ready to go.

Such simplicity extends to the controls. It has two knobs and a MODE button for easy switching between CCT, HSI, effect modes (it has 15 built-in effects with fully adjustable parameters) and entering into the menu. The knobs control all the common operations including changing intensity, setting effects and adjusting color. In addition, pressing the left knob offers a brightness reset function and the right knob can lock settings.

Connectivity-wise, built-in Bluetooth and 2.4G modules enable control via the recently upgraded Nanlink App 2.0 or a remote controller. The Nanlink App 2.0 also supports preset and grouping functions, making it useful for complex shooting scenarios such as music videos, allowing quick setup changes and synchronized control of multiple fixtures.

Featuring a standard Bowens mount and umbrella hole, the FS-300C is compatible with a wide range of Nanlite modifiers and, naturally, other Bowens mount accessories and umbrellas.
