Scientist Dr Adrian Smith has filmed moths at 6,000fps and the result is rather mesmerising.
I mean who wouldn't want to film moths at 6,000 fps if they had access to a high speed camera? In this case a Phantom VEO 1310 with a Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro Lens and LED lighting from the Visual Instrument Corporation, designed for ultra high speed filming.
In all there are seven species of moth featured in the video, collected and filmed in Cornish, New Hampshire in July. Adrian is keen to emphasise that all moths were released after filming.
Adrian is a scientist at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and has his own channel on YouTube, called Ant Lab, and Instagram. Enjoy the video below!
