Lomography claims Lomo’Instant Wide GLASS ‘Best Instant Camera on Earth’

Nothing feels more analogue than shooting on an instant camera and Lomography is adding to its growing range of instant options with the Lomo’Instant Wide GLASS.

Lomography calls the $279 Lomo’Instant Wide GLASS “the best instant camera on Earth,” which is an impressive amount of hyperbole but then it is only a small field nowadays. And it seems to make an impressive amount of them.

The camera features a 90 mm multi-coated glass lens, that has been chosen to produce sharper instant prints than ever before on Fujifilm Instax Wide film, with vibrant, true-to-life colors. It also features a close focusing distance of just 0.3 meters, enabling users to capture even fine details. Other steps along the zone focusing settings are 0.6 m, 1 – 2 m, and Infinity. The Splitzer lens attachment is included.

It has a fully programmatic shutter and a shutter speed that ranges from eight seconds to 1/250s with an auto and f/22 mode, plus a fixed 1/30s shutter speed and a bulb mode (there is a built in flash above the lens). An additional manual fixed f/22 aperture stop offers greater depth of field, and the PC-Sync port offers integration with external flashes or strobes.

It supports multiple exposures while it also includes colored gel filters to add a dynamic burst of color with the flash.

As to the Fujifilm Instax Wide film, that starts at $18.99 for 20 exposures. Analogue is fun, but it is also not necessarily cheap.
