Lens roundup fall 2024: DZOFILM Cine Primes, Sigma Prototype, and more
4:32

Ahead of a whole brace of announcements at IBC, here's our roundup of the major lens announcements from the summer including offerings from DZOFilm, Sigma, Meike, and others.

Most of the lenses we look at today are focused mostly on filmmakers and cinematographers, although any of them can be used for other narratives, documentaries, sit-down interviews, etc. There is plenty of great glass at terrific prices.

DZOFILM Fast Arles Prime Vista Vision Full Frame Lenses at T1.4 now available

The new Arles Prime Vista Vision FF lenses from DZOFILM look pretty awesome (above)! They’re quite fast at T1.4 and come in focal lengths of 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm. And the best news is they’re now available to purchase.

The DZOFILM Arles Prime Vista Vision Full Frame lenses’ features include a fast aperture of T1.4, 16 blade aperture, aspherical elements, 46.5mm maximum image circle, filter thread size of 86mm (front filter diameter od 95mm), multi-layer nano coating; and more. DZOFILM has other full frame cinema lenses, including the Vespid primes.

The prices for the 5-lens A set (25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm) is an unbelievable $9699 and comes with a hard case. If you were to buy each one separately, it will cost $2,149 USD, so there is about a $100 discount buying them together. There will be a B set as DZOFILM introduces more focal lengths later in 2024. Those will include 14mm, 21mm, 40mm, 135mm, and 180mm; while the prices and details haven't been released, if it's around the same as the A set, you're looking at only $20,000 or so for 10 full frame cine prime lenses!
