Insta360 announces the ONE X2

Insta360 has just announced a sequel to one of its most popular cameras, the ONE X. The ONE X2 offers full waterproofing, better stabilisation, new LCD display, and higher bitrates.

The ONE X is the 360 camera that proved how easy 360 video could be. It became incredibly popular for its design and ease of use, as well as the quality of picture that it produced. Subsequently the ONE R brought a full action camera style thinking to the table, but a lot of people still preferred the ONE X and yearned for an update. Today Insta360 has obliged with the ONE X2.

The ONE X2 looks pretty similar to the original camera, but updates the system quite substantially.

ONE X2 new features

The updated features on the ONE X2 include:-

• 55% better battery life.
• 100Mbps bitrates
• New Steady Cam, InstaPano, and MultiView modes
• Updated FlowState stabilisation
• TimeShift available for both 360 and Steady Cam modes
• PureShot photo mode
• Waterproofing down to 10 metres
• Four mic ‘ambisonic’ audio recording system
• 360 webcam capability
• New touchscreen LCD for monitoring recording

The camera will also have a number of new accessories available for it including a new microphone adaptor, a Bullet Time cord, fast charge hub, and new lens guards.
