At IBC 2024, Hollyland presented a comprehensive range of products, including their newly released Solidcom C1 Pro Roaming Hub, showcasing their ecosystem approach to production communication and wireless video transmission.
Hollyland's stand at IBC 2024 offered visitors a hands-on experience with all of their latest products, demonstrating how different components work together in real-world production scenarios. In this RedShark booth tour video, Lawrence from Hollyland guided us through their ecosystem, which included cameras equipped with Hollyland gear, the VenusLiv live streaming camera, and various wireless transmission solutions.
A centerpiece of Hollyland's display was their intercom system lineup, ranging from entry-level solutions to more advanced setups. They also demonstrated the capabilities of their new Solidcom C1 Pro Roaming Hub, which has now been officially released.
The Solidcom C1 Pro Roaming Hub significantly advances Hollyland's intercom offerings. It supports communication for up to 20 headsets and six groups, with a range of 500 meters (about 1,640 feet). The standout feature of this system is its roaming capability, allowing users to move between coverage areas of different hubs without losing connection.
Lawrence explained, "We got two hubs... each Hub has a range of 500 meters. The headset is connected to this Hub, and when you come a little bit closer to this range, it roams and connects to this (alternative) Hub." This feature makes the system particularly suitable for large-scale productions or events where team members need to move around extensively while maintaining clear communication.
At the show, Hollyland demonstrated the system's robustness by setting up 48 headsets connected via two C1 Pro Roaming Hubs and a standard Solidcom C1 Pro Hub. The Roaming Hubs supported 20 headsets each, while the standard Hub added eight more, showcasing the system's capacity for larger productions.
The C1 Pro Roaming Hub operates on the 1.9GHz band, which generally offers better range and less interference compared to the 2.4GHz band used by some other systems. It's priced at $5,999 for either V-mount or G-mount versions. Hollyland also offers kit options: the C1 Pro Roaming Hub 10S Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom System with ten single-ear headsets for $9,189, or a larger kit with 20 single-ear headsets for $12,179.
For those needing a more budget-friendly option, Hollyland also introduced the Solidcom SE, a 2.4GHz version supporting up to 5 headsets, aimed at smaller crews.
Hollyland's ecosystem approach was also evident in its display of various wireless video transmission systems. They showcased the Cosmo C1, an entry-level system, alongside more advanced options like the Mars M1, capable of 4K transmission.
The company also previewed an upcoming product set for release in the coming months - a new wireless video system with a larger receiver capable of 1-kilometer range and support for two transmitters to one receiver, catering to multi-camera setups.
Hollyland's showcase at IBC 2024 and the subsequent release of the C1 Pro Roaming Hub underscore the company's focus on providing scalable, integrated solutions for various production needs. From small teams to large-scale events, Hollyland appears to be positioning itself as a one-stop shop for wireless communication and video transmission in the professional video production space.
