Cabsat, the main industry trade show for the Middle East, enters its last day today. RedShark have been Media Sponsors for the show, as with all the major Western Hemisphere exhibitions
CabSat is in exactly the right place for a Middle East Trade Show: right in the middle of Dubai. Apparently this emirate, part of the United Arab Emirates which includes Abu Dhabi, has more building site cranes than any other city on Earth (apart from China, which has around 50 cities being built as quickly!).
It's a fascinating place to visit but Cabsat itself is an ideal focus for manufacturers and end users alike. All the major companies are there - including Sony, with their latest CineAlta camera range and other broadcast production products.
Smaller companies go there as well, like Videosys, who make RF video links and remote controls for live production. Videosys sales manager Alistair Horne told us
"The show has been very busy and the diversity of the attending delegates has been great to see, we have had strong interest from companies all over the middle East, Africa".
Editshare reported brisk business. MEA Sales Manager David Castle said
"We're so pleased to be active in this region, and our efforts have paid off with keen interest in Geevs Sports, for example: a product which is already popular in Europe and North America".
If you're in the region, if you're a manufacturer, or if you want to go to a more intimate but still comprehensive show, in a place where you're all but guaranteed good weather, this might be one to put in your diary for next year.
