To paraphrase Helmuth von Moltke the Elder, as we often do, no software release survives contact with the public.

It was, of course, Helmuth von Moltke the Elder who came out with the oft-quoted, misquoted, and generally appropriated line about 'No battle plan survives contact with the enemy'. It's a sage bit of wisdom, and equally applicable to software. You can test, retest, and test again, and still discover bugs in the wild on final release.

Hence, DaVinci Resolve 19.0.1, which does an admirable job of bug-squashing a whole lot of nasties. It also adds improved timeline responsiveness when moving a large number of clips, smoother playback when using a fixed playhead, as well as better media management when transcoding embedded AAF content. In addition, there’s improved matte performance when duplicating timelines or applying grades between clips.

Here's the list...

What's new in DaVinci Resolve 19.0.1

  • More responsive timeline updating when moving a large numbers of clips.
  • Smoother playback when using fixed playhead in edit.
