Blackmagic Design has released a whole new version number of its popular Blackmagic Camera for iOS app and it adds some intriguing new features.
We like the Blackmagic Camera app. And judging by the fact that the company has recently ported it to Android, so do quite a lot of other people out there. So it's good to see it developing at pace with a whole new version of the iOS app hitting the App Store overnight.
And, of course, we can add to those bullets the usual general performance and stability improvements.
iPad support will be welcomed by many, though we'd hope more as a tool for working with video rather than shooting it itself. The ability to control multiple phones with the app and even remotely monitor their captures is intriguing as well, and if anyone out there is playing around with that, drop us a line and let us know how it's going.
Availability is immediate and price is free, which are two of our favourite things when it comes to new stuff. Just head to the App Store to download. No ETA for a similar update to the Android version yet; we'll pass on more info when we know it.
