Black Friday 2024 promises to be bigger and better than ever as retailers and manufacturers look to maximise their holiday season sales. Here are the best deals in photo, video, tech and pretty much anything else we could find.
We thought about running all these deals as individual news stories, but realised fairly quickly that the internet would run out of space if we did that. Yes, the entire internet; no exaggeration. There is a lot going on this year and retailers have started earlier than ever. So, we'll put the best ones that we see here as they cross our desk and update this page as the month goes on. Check back regularly would be our advice.
The Videndum group's Creative Services division is having a major sale as of now. And seeing as how that division comprises of Teradek, Wooden Camera, and SmallHD, it's one well worth paying some serious attention to. Both Wooden Camera and SmallHD are running sales featuring up to 40% off; Wooden Camera's covering the Universal Lens Support, Ultra QR Articulating Monitor Mount, D-Box, and more; while SmallHD has big savings on Cine 7 Camera Control Kits, Cine 18, and more. Teradek, meanwhile, eschews talk of percentages to offer up to $1600 off various pieces of kit, with even a Bolt 6 LT 750 3G-SDI/HDMI Set coming in at $800 off and down to $1990.
With the latest version of VEGAS Pro 22 just out, it's an appropriate time for a discount. There is money off across the company's range of Perpetual, Subscription, and Education licenses, with highlights including VEGAS Pro now $149 for a perpetual licence (was $199); VEGAS Pro Suite now $199 (was $249); VEGAS Pro 365 (Subscription) now $59.88/year (was $95.88); and VEGAS Pro Suite 365 (Subscription) now $83.88/year (was $119/year). More information here.
Laowa is one of the companies announcing an early sale, with up to 25% off its premium cine lenses collections. Looking through its site not everything is included but there are some definite bargains to be had, with over $300 off some of the individual lenses in its Ranger FF series and even more in bundles. Pick so far is a 2-lens bundle of 28-75mm T2.9 FF and 75-180mm T2.9 FF in its Ranger FF Lite Compact Cine Zoom series down to $5779 from $6779, but there are likely more to be had as the month continues.
Core SWX is running discounts through the whole of November, with savings of up to 33% on offer. These run from the big, the Renegade XL Li-Ion block battery with 14v, 28v, and 48v outputs down to $3839; to the small, the PB Edge Lite battery dropping to a mere $125.
Over on the lighting side of things, Norway's Kelvin has announced a massive 30% off everything. That means, for example, that you can pick up its well-regarded Epos 600 RGBACL LED light for €2589 rather than the normal €3699. The company is also offering free shipping for orders over $499 to Europe, UK, and the Americas.
As you would expect, resellers are a huge source of decent Black Friday deals. In the UK, CVP has over 800 items (and counting) in its early deals section. Highlights as of November 11 include the Sony FX3 down to £2958 from £3208, the SmallHD Cine 7 at over £300 off at £1400, and nearly £200 off the Hollyland Mars 4K Wireless Video Transmission system, yours now for a mere £311. There's a particular emphasis on lenses at the moment, and if you're looking for something like the DZOFilm Pavo 2x Anamorphic 6 Lens Set NC you can shave over £2000 off the price, down at £20,807.
Over in New York, B&H is branding its current offers as Holiday Head Start. As ever, they are well worth sifting through, and the company has taken a leaf out of Amazon's book to run some limited time offers through the site. When we checked on November 11 it had a MANFROTTO MK055XPRO3-3W Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head at over half price, $199 down from $460, a tasty $400 off an Apple 14" MacBook Pro (M3 Pro, Space Black) at $1599, and $150 off a Samsung 4TB T7 Portable SSD, now only $279. Vast amounts of stock as ever, so if you're in the US check back often.
