A brand new set of audio processing plugins promises to allow users to produce highly polished and professional results, even if they have absolutely no previous audio editing experience.
Accusonus might not be a name you are familiar with, but we reckon you'll be hearing a lot more about them from now on. The Greece based company specialises in audio processing plugins that offer highly advanced processing, but with single knob controls.
For anyone involved in video production, particularly those facing very tight deadlines, complex audio plugins can be more of a hinderance than a help. Enter ERA 4, a newly announced series of audio processing plugins that works with a wide range of software, from Pro Tools, Audacity, Cubase, and GarageBand to name but a few on the audio side, through to Adobe Premiere CC, FCP X, Davinci Resolve 14 (or higher), Media Composer, and MAGIX Vegas Pro on the video side.
ERA 4 comes in two bundles, Standard ($149) and Pro ($499). Both bundles come with the following:-
The Pro Bundle features a more in depth De-Esser to allow fine tuning when you are working with some of the worst quality recordings.
We'll be reviewing the set very soon on RedShark, but what we have seen so far is very impressive. The multi-patented plugins leverage machine learning and AI techniques, and feature an interface that belies the complexity that is happening under the hood. Load up the noise reduction plugin for example and you are presented with one knob that allows you to adjust the amount of processing and a some simple icons to tell it which frequency type to focus on (ie all, low, high). There's also an A-B switch, so you can try out two different settings and quickly switch between them to compare the results.
The idea is that even if you have no audio editing experience previously, you will be able to produce a high quality result quickly, and easily.
For more information, as well as access to 14 day trials, visit the Accusonus website. Both the Standard and Pro bundles are currently available at introductory prices of $119 and $349 respectively until July 31st.
