Atomos takes aim at live production, monitoring, audio and post with five focused launches at NAB 2025.
We caught up with Peter Barber on the Atomos NAB booth for a rapid-fire demo of everything new, starting with a lineup of auto-tracking PTZ cameras designed for small-crew live production.
Available in HD and 4K, the cameras can follow a presenter across a stage, either on their own or via a separate controller unit. “It makes it really simple, really effective and really cheap,” he said.
Also launching this year is TXRX, a compact wireless video system that uses Wi-Fi to send 1080p or 4K video across the set. One transmitter can feed up to four receivers, or send video straight to a mobile device for quick, on-set monitoring. Pricing starts at $600 for a full TX/RX kit.
Audio got its moment too, with the debut of StudioSonic, a set of production-focused headphones designed for transparency and versatility. A subtle but smart feature: interchangeable plugs, so there’s no need for flaky adapters mid-recording.
Behind the scenes, Atomos has also launched ATOMOSphere, a new camera-to-cloud platform with 20GB of free storage for every user. Recordings can be uploaded directly from Ninja and Shogun devices, or from memory cards on any camera system. Proxy previews are generated automatically for quick review in a browser, and clips can be shared with editors, clients or collaborators on the fly.
“You can upgrade your plan, use that space, and if you want to move the footage off later on and save some money, you can also downgrade your plan as well,” Peter explained.
Atomos is offering flexible pricing, integration with existing workflows, and a cloud model that doesn’t lock users in. It’s a broad push into both ends of the pipeline — from acquisition to delivery.
