RedShark's very own Co-Founder, Matt Gregory, provides a tour of the ASUS ProArt stand at IBC 2024, offering a look at the company's latest products for creative professionals.

ASUS ProArt had a strong showing at IBC this year, presenting a range of new and updated products aimed at content creators and post-production professionals alike. From 4K and 8K HDR displays to compact workstations, custom PC's and Expert WiFi, the lineup addressed various needs in the creative technology space. There really was something for everyone!

One of the more striking displays that Matt saw was the PQ07, a 135-inch micro LED display that ASUS has configured as a modular solution, reminiscent of a virtual production LED stage. This setup hosted daily Master Talk sessions featuring professionals discussing their use of ASUS ProArt equipment.

In the on-set monitor category, ASUS showed the PA24US monitors. Matt noted, "These have been out for a few years now, so they're actually at a price point which is incredible." These monitors feature 10-bit color and 12G SDI connectivity, and they are compatible with high-end cameras like the RED Epic Weapon used on the ASUS stand for their demo. For those seeking portability, ASUS also introduced the PA16USV, a 16-inch version of their reference monitor line, though it lacks the built-in calibration tool of its larger counterparts.

On the workstation front, we saw the new ProArt chassis, incorporating ProArt motherboards, cooling systems, and their ProArt RTX 4070 graphics card. These systems are designed specifically to be AI-supported, utilising the technology to maximize your performance against your current usage. For more compact needs, ASUS offers mini PCs and NUCs, including the NUC 14 Performance model which we have seen being used in person by Evercoast for 3D volumetric capture. According to Matt, this model, despite its small size, includes an Intel Core i9 processor, an NVIDIA RTX 4070 graphics card, and can support up to five 4K outputs.

ASUS is also launching its P Series laptops, which are designed for AI and creative workflows. It’s worth noting our team is using the ASUS ProArt P16 model for editing, reporting noticeable performance improvements in rendering and ingesting compared to previous models.

The display lineup includes the new PA32KCK 8K mini LED HDR monitor and the PA32UCR-K 4K mini LED display. Matt also highlighted the PA32UCDM—winner of a coveted RedShark Best-in-show award—a QD-OLED HDR display with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits brightness, priced at 1,799 USD, which seems like a very accessible price point for the level of the monitor.

Watch the video above to see the broad range of products ASUS had on show, from displays to workstations, aimed at meeting the diverse needs of creative professionals. As with all new technology, hands-on testing and comparison will be crucial, and we will be bringing you more of that soon, but on first impressions, things are looking bright for the ASUS ProArt line-up.
