Angelbird’s 280 MB/s V PRO SD MK2 V60 and 300 MB/s V90 cards are now available in new, larger 512GB/1TB and 512GB sizes respectively.
SD cards are possibly one of the most essential bits of kit you can buy and, as Austria's Angelbird Technologies is understandably keen to point out, they are not all created equal. Maximum speed is one thing, but when it comes down to it, it’s sustained speed that you really want to have at your disposal. And knowing that a card will operate at high write speeds that are sustained throughout the capacity of the card gives you that bit more confidence to lean into your schedules that bit more.
The new V PRO SD MK2 V60 and V90 cards will hopefully put an end to having to make uncomfortable decisions regarding trade-offs between recording at high-resolution settings and capacity limits. The cards feature the company’s Stable Stream technology to optimize recording performance throughout the entire capacity of the card (and for the duration of the recording session) with minimum sustained write speeds of 140 MB/s (V60) and 260 MB/s (V90) respectively.
Both feature an integrated write-protect switch to prevent accidental file deletion and card formatting; adaptive power management that promises a low power draw and bus-powered components that place minimal drain on battery life for improved run time; rock-solid build quality that protects against moisture, x-ray/magnets, shock, dust, and will run at anything from -25° C to 85° C (that’s -13° F to 185°F); and are sticker-free, using an etched serial number for identification and to help prevent potential jams or card mix-ups.
Fast data offloading is also possible when combined with the Angelbird SD Dual Card Reader that supports 10Gb/s data transfers as long as you use a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 compatible host system.
The AV PRO SD MK2 V60 now comes in 64 GB | 128 GB | 256 GB | 512 GB | 1 TB flavours with the new cards coming in at €/$149 for the 512GB, and €/$299 for the 1TB; the AV PRO SD MK2 V90 ships in 64 GB | 128 GB | 256 GB | 512 GB, with that last new card listed at €/$599.
