Angelbird adds 160 GB and 330 GB CFexpress Type A memory cards for Sony shooters

Angelbird has announced the return of its CFexpress Type A memory cards, engineered for use with Sony’s range of Alpha and FX CFexpress Type A cameras.

Smaller than an SD card, two sizes of the AV PRO CFexpress A SE are available: 160 GB or 330 GB. At these capacities, Sony shooters get high-performance media cards that support advanced features such as 8K RAW, 4K, and high frame-rate video at up to 120 fps, as well as raw photos and image bursts across a range of cameras. Cards are rigorously tested and certified for in-camera compatibility with the Sony α1, Sony α7 IV, Sony α7S III, Sony FX3, and the Sony FX6.

The cards are backed by Stable Stream technology to ensure a consistent sustained write speed of 650 MBps is maintained throughout the entire recording (not just at the beginning). Angelbird says that this high-quality stream of data flow virtually eliminates dropped frames or choppy footage. It also supports fast file offloading with max read speeds of 820 MBps, making files available as quickly as possible.

The cards are built to last and to keep the card and its content safe from extreme temperatures (operating temperatures of -10 °C to 70 °C and storage temperatures of -20 °C to 85 °C), moisture, dust, shock, x-rays, and magnetic damage, even saving buffer files when the power quits unexpectedly.

Pricing is currently TBA.
