AJA introduces three compact solutions for production and streaming

AJA has kept things practical this year, revealing three small-form tools to smooth out common pain points in live production, audio routing, and streaming.

First up is the KUMO 6464-12G, a high-density SDI router offering 64 channels in and 64 out, all in a silent 4RU chassis.

“It has no fan, so if it needs to be installed in a mission-critical area where noise is a problem, this is the device for you,” said AJA’s Andy Bellamy.

It supports everything from HD to 8K, with redundant power and browser-based control as standard.

The DANTE 16-GAM is a new mini converter that handles Dante audio embedding and disembedding. Compact but adaptable, it features an LCD screen for local control, remote access via web UI, and an SFP cage for adding a video channel.

AJA also offers the same functionality in an OpenGear card format.

The most ambitious of the three is the Bridge Live 3G-8. This latest version of AJA’s IP gateway has been fully rebuilt with new processing hardware and now supports up to eight channels of baseband video input. “It’s much more powerful than the previous model,” said Bellamy.

It also supports simultaneous frame rates across its dual video cards, making it easier to work across international formats without a reboot.

All three are designed to fit into tight spaces and tighter workflows, and all are shipping soon.
