Adobe adds features and upgrades to consumer-level Premiere & Photoshop Elements

Adobe’s consumer level versions of Premiere and Photoshop still contain some powerful new features, and they’re getting a decent boost in the new versions too.

Adobe has always had a consumer market for its products where its subscription model isn’t really going to work. That's why it launched its $99 Adobe Premiere Elements and Adobe Photoshop Elements packages a few years ago (also bundled together for $149.99). It’s software as it used to be basically; physical, boxed products that offer a decent proportion of the features of their Creative Cloud counterparts but tend to be fixed in time and not part of the same constant upgrade cycle of their pro level counterparts.

That’s not to say they don’t have some powerful features in them, though. Last year they received a raft of AI features, and this year Adobe has circled round and added even more.

For a complete list of what’s new, please visit the Photoshop Elements 2025, Premiere Elements 2025 or Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 2025 web pages. They will also have up to date pricing information (that given above is from last year’s release). For the highlights, read on:

New in Premiere Elements

Interestingly, Premiere Elements doesn’t get any of the new AI tricks. But it does get some mighty useful stuff handed down for the mainstream program.

Dynamic titles with more text controls

New templates allow users to style text to match their story with new controls for alignment, size, direction, color, spacing, and more.

Color tools

A new White Balance tool and color correction Curves are joined by the ability to use LUTs, with presets included

Simplified timeline

Video tracks can now be grouped together, as well as audio tracks, for easier navigation. A new Quick Tools menu provides swift access to tools, while individual tracks can be locked to prevent accidental changes.

UI improvements

Apple M3 chip support

New in Photoshop Elements

Photoshop Elements also gets the M3 support. And alongside that you have some AI stuff to play with:

Simply brush to remove objects

Make anything disappear in seconds with the new AI-powered Remove tool and the Object Removal Guided Edit.

Add realistic depth of field with precise control

Choose your focal point and the new AI-powered Depth Blur filter automatically adds blur just where it’s needed. Then adjust details like blur strength, focal distance, and focal range for the perfect look

And there’s the normal stuff, which still adds some cool new features

Change the color of any object

Just use the automatic selection tools to choose what you want to change, pick your new color, and refine to suit your style.

Seamlessly combine multiple pics

Blend the subject from one, the background from another, and elements from many more to create a never-before-seen image.
